So, abide by the rules, and have your underwater camera ready for a close-up. How to get to Oslob: The city is 120 kilometres from Cebu. You can get on a bus at the Cebu South bus terminal (3.5 hours) or take a public van from the GT Express Terminal (3 hours). While Badian and Oslob are located in the southern tip, Malapascua is a tiny island north of Cebu that is just 2.5 kilometres in length (yet, there are more than 8,000 inhabitants). The island is known as a world-class scuba diving and snorkelling destination for its prismatic coral reefs and thresher sharks. Relax. If you like art with a side of architecture, you would feel at home in this tasteful imitation of a mid-19th-century house on Calle Jaboneros. It was built in the 1980s, but the art takes you back all the way to the Spanish period. With its richly decorated lounges, lavish bedrooms, and opulent kitchens and bathrooms, it’s unsurprising that only Spaniards and Filipino ilustrados (educated class) could have afforded it. Houses like this became a status symbol in the Spanish period for families in the educated and elite class. You’ll get in by coughing up 100 pesos as a regular adult and 60 pesos as a student. And so does the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, just outside the western border of Tokyo Metropolis. What are the first things that come to mind when you mention Studio Ghibli?
